"Clean of Heart" Program
Clean of Heart opened its doors on March 9, 2011 and was blessed and dedicated by Bishop Guglielmone on April 5th. Clean of Heart, located at 1219 Laurel Street, provides much needed showers and laundry services to the downtown Columbia homeless population. Days of operation are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00-12:00. Access to the facility is by appointment only. Appointments are made on Thursdays (for the following week) at the Catholic Charities of the Midlands office at 1529 Assembly Street or via phone 803.254.9776.

As of November 2012, Clean of Heart is blessed to partner with The Paul Mitchell School, located at 700 Gervais Street, who provides complimentary haircuts to Clean of Heart clients.

The clothing closet is open on Tuesdays from 9:00 - 12:00 at 1529 Assembly Street. Individuals may come to get a change of clothes (pants, shirt, socks, underwear) along with travel size toiletries and a snack. During winter months, coats, hats, and gloves are available. Picture ID required.
