Celebrating the Mother of our Lord
FATIMA CENTENNIAL PRAYER 2017 Marian Year – Catholic Diocese of Charleston, SC

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, you are our Mother of Joyful Hope. As we commemorate your extraordinary concern shown for the Church and the world at Fatima, we thank you for your message that would assure universal peace. You urged penance by fulfilling our daily responsibilities, aided by our daily meditation on your holy Rosary. In this way, you desired to prevent the worldwide catastrophe of war. Your counsel, however, was not accepted by many and in our own time we still struggle to find world peace.

You also asked us to make proper reparation to your Immaculate Heart by practicing the five First Saturday devotions. These devotions focus on your Immaculate Conception, your Holy Virginity, your Divine Motherhood, and your spiritual Motherhood of all humanity. Therefore, enlighten us to be evangelizers of your holy love for God and for us. Help us to tell our children about your love. We ask you to strengthen our appreciation of your continuous compassion towards us. Obtain for us the grace to respond wholeheartedly to your presence in our midst - a presence that leads us to your Son, His Sacrifice and to the Father through the Holy Spirit.

For this reason, we implore you: Come, Mother, come! We need to know your Son. We want to know your Son. Come, Mother, come! Tell us about your Son. Teach us about your Son. Come, Mother, come! Prepare us for your Son. Unite us to your Son - our Eucharistic King of Divine Mercy.

Sources: This prayer is based on the message of Fatima, the Second Vatican Council, and on the prayers to Our Lady by St. John Paul II.

The title ‘Eucharistic King of Mercy’ recalls the apparition of the Angel who led the children of Fatima in reparative prayer before the Bl. Sacrament as well as the recent Year of Mercy. Our Lord spoke to St. Faustina from the Eucharist saying, “Here I am the King of Mercy.”
